Kind words about our workshops, classes and
Rabbi in Residence experiences
“Rabbi Tasman was very much appreciated by my congregants here at Temple Sinai, Las Vegas. During her virtual scholar-in-residence program, she was able to connect with participants easily and draw them into activities and learning. She took a creative approach to Torah study and enabled our folks to engage with Shabbat and text meaningfully. Congregants spoke joyfully of their time with Rabbi Tasman and asked when she might visit again due to her finding the right balance between deep learning and relationship-building. I would heartily recommend her as a visiting scholar.”
-Rabbi Malcolm Cohen, Temple Sinai Las Vegas
“We decided to start including mindfulness and Torah into our professional development about two years ago. I couldn’t ask for a better partner in this work than Rabbi Sarah! She is thoughtful and creative. She always asks about the goals of the program and plans the workshop around them. She brings hope, rejuvenation, and meaning to this work.”
-Rachel Shtern, Director, Jewish Education and Engagement at the Jewish Federations of North America.
“Rabbi Tasman facilitated ‘Living In Alignment With Cycles and Seasons’ day retreat in 2019 and ‘Summer Solstice’ virtual workshop in 2020 for Spirit of Sophia. We were so blessed to learn from her teachings, to experience our spirituality creatively, and to share in circle with her calm, respectful, and caring demeanor. Due to the demand for her leadership and teaching, we have asked Rabbi Tasman to lead workshops for us in the fall of 2021 and winter of 2022. Not only is she a great facilitator, but a delight to work with. I personally learn something new that causes me to want to explore it deeper every time we have a conversation.”
-Dana Sue Walker, Executive Director, Spirit of Sophia
“We had Rabbi Tasman as a Shabbat Scholar-in-Residence. Her presentations were riveting and creative. Rabbi Sarah has a welcoming and inviting style. She spoke Friday evening and everyone present attended Shabbat morning to hear her second presentation. We would have her back in a heartbeat.”
- Rabbi Robert Slosberg and Cantor David Lipp, Congregation Adath Jeshurun Louisville, Kentucky
“Our congregants first chance to meet the summer rabbi is at our Welcome Barbecue/ Shabbat service. Rabbi Tasman made it clear she was approachable, caring, and thoughtful. As president of the board, I knew we had a winner for our community. Thank You Rabbi Tasman.”
- Thad Keener, former president of Or HaTzafon Congregation, Fairbanks Alaska
“I attended Rabbi Sarah Tasman’s retreat in Louisville,KY with Spirit of Sophia Women's Spiritual Community of Louisville as well as her programs for her Rabbi in Residence weekend at Congregation Adath Jeshurun. Every event was infused with Rabbi Sarah’s spirituality, creativity, sensitivity , intellect, warmth and calmness. There were so many attendees at her Saturday morning sermon that the congregation had to move from the chapel to the main sanctuary to accommodate everyone. I was so lucky to be able to attend every event she led when she visited Louisville.”
